So the farm...

This year has been declared the year of finishing. In other-words, our house has been in transition for years, and this year is the year of finally finishing ALL of the projects we have started and need to start. When I first moved in in late 2006 this is what the property looked like.

Vinyl siding, dead trees, fence in need of refreshing, flood issues, and lots of dirt. Notice a lack of green.

Now here the house is as of May 2011. We have
removed the siding, removed the insulation (aka giant mouse skyrise), and replaced it with spray foam insulation, lots of caulking to keep out the mice and dirt (and spiders) and nice wood siding. Also notice the nice rock trim on the bottom of the house.

But alas the outside of the house, as well as most of the inside, and the yard and the barn are not finished. As of May 2011, lots of projects have been started, but are not completed. The siding was not yet finished, the french drain not yet done, the list goes on and on.

Here is an image of the 'sewage hill' as well like to call it. It is our septic tank beautifully covered in dirt (the water level was too high at one time to put it below ground level). As you can see it was at one time mostly a pile of dirt. But we have been building planting boxes, steps, a fountain and in a large rock wall, that will someday be topped by a deck.

And now here is the farm today!

And finally maybe tomorrow.

Better get back to work! Lots to get done!
